Technology in the Classroom

It seems to me that the culture of how we teach must change if we are to remain relevant and current with the needs of the time. The real challenge is how do we advance the changes in this culture and who should lead this change?

  3. I thoroughly enjoyed my first presentation at Charlie Smith High School. Much of the misgivings I had about the area as well as the stigma associated with the persons' in this area were disspelled.
    It is amazing how we can create preconceived notions about persons and communities that really prevents us from engagement and meaningful experiences. Thanks Charlie Smith....I was awaken!

  4. I am currently reviewing the projects and assignments done by the various groups and individuals at CSHS. Many of them reflected a high standard of work and commitment to excellence. Best wishes to all the Teachers' of CSHS as they forge ahead and continue to make a difference in the classrooms. Blessings to all!

  5. Many schools are slated to have the e-Learning intervention this Academic Year 2009-2010. It is imperative that this thrust receives the widest support and participation.
    Teachers' at the Secondary Level must be equipped, trained and ready to be creative and innovative in the classroom. As one of the main agencies of socialization teachers' need to own the mission and take full responsibility for the success of this programme.
    No longer can the failures at the Secondary Level be analyzed away and be foisted upon the "Government of the day." Teachers' either accept the responsibility or leave the classroom to those who are the real agents of change and owners' of the responsibility for students' failures! It is this real, personal and direct! As a teacher you either engage or remain dis-engaged! Their is no room for mediocrity or indifference.....Those days are over!

  6. As educators we are quite cognizant of the fact that we are failing and failing miserably. However,the need to train and equip teachers to become more innovative in the classroom is important, but how many of these teachers are really equipped with the knowledge and skills to use technology in the classroom? Not many, I may say.
    Failure should never be embraced, neither should it be just passed on from one agency to the next. Instead, as educators we need to seriously evaluate our performances and if we are not prepared to make the change then we should in fact be prepared to leave the classroom.That's the reality that we face.
